Instead of overwhelming myself with something fully fledged, I thought it might be nice to do a little check in when I have the time where we can have a look at what I’ve been making as well as a little round up of what I’ve been reading, listening to, watching etc. I’d love to say that I’ll do this monthly, but unless magical Future Ellie really does appear, that’s probably not going to happen.

When I wrote my first blog post in 2021, just as I was launching my business, I had big ideas about posting my musings on studio happenings on a somewhat regular basis. I had even made some internal commitments to perhaps writing something monthly, maybe more, if inspiration struck. You’ll have noted, if you found your way to this post via my blog page, that that first post was my only, hanging out, friendless, in cyberspace.

Time, as the idioms suggest, is fleeting.

The first and most common question I am asked when people visit my studio is ‘How long have you been painting?’. It’s a question without a straightforward answer. Both ‘Forever’ and ‘Less than a year’ are true.
